Introducing Enhanced Capacity Draft Gear Pads

Keeping in line with the ambition of Indian Railways to increase the load capacity of wagons, and also to increase the number of wagons in a single train, we are proud to introduce draft gear pads that are up to the task. These injection molded RF-8/RF-9 pads developed in-house after rigorous R&D and multiple trials have a higher energy absorbing capacity of 45,000 ft-lb in a pack of 6 pads.
Current production capacity is 18000 pads per month.

• Burst pressure and collapse testing for molded hoses
• Visual examination and dimensional check
Our Products
The products we manufacture are mostly custom-made based on the drawing and specifications provided by the customer. Once we receive the drawing and specifications, the development team kicks into action and work out the part cost and development cost before quoting to the customer. Product development is done with the least possible lead time, which may vary from a couple of days to 2 months depending on the complexity and type of tooling required.

Manufacturing Process
The raw materials we use are sourced from highly reputed and trusted companies with well established brand names. Manufacturing process begins by careful formulation of rubber compound to achieve properties desired in the final products as required by the customer. Compounding is done by our experts who have many decades of experience in this field.
All ingredients are mixed according to the specific formulation to achieve a homogenous rubber compound. The compound is drawn out from a two-roll mixing mill in the form of sheets or strips depending on the manufacturing process to be followed later.
Molding is done by one of the following methods:
1. Injection molding
This process is technologically advanced and suitable for production at high volumes, giving better economy. The drawback is a relatively higher tooling cost. We are equipped with sophisticated German injection molding machines of 250 ton/4000 cc capacity that give excellent results.

The process involves heating the polymer to a semi-fluid state and injecting it into a closed mould at high pressure. The polymer takes the shape of the mould cavity and is cured at high temperature for an optimum duration. After curing, the solidified product is then taken out by opening the mould.
2. Compression molding
This process is suitable for products with complex geometrical form and lower volume production. This process is semi-automatic and the initial tooling cost is comparatively lower.

Rubber compound is manually placed in an open and pre-heated mould cavity. The mould is then closed at high pressure. The intensity of temperature and pressure turns the rubber compound into a plastic state which then takes the shape of the mould. After curing for some time the mould is opened and the molded items are taken out.
3. Transfer molding
Transfer molding is a process where the amount of material is measured and inserted before the molding process takes place. The material is then preheated and loaded into a pot and a plunger is then used to force the material from the pot through the runner system into the mold cavities.
Joint Venture / Technical Collaboration
Ranbir Polymer Industries is actively searching for partners for joint ventures/technical collaborations from European/East Asian/American companies who are experienced in the field of manufacturing rubber products.

We want to bring your products to India and provide you an easy access to the huge Indian market. We have an experience of 30 years, and resources such as unused land, uninterrupted electricity, low manufacturing costs and a forward thinking management ready to embrace new ideas and technologies.
